The United Company Foundation Endowed Scholarship was established in 2019 to benefit medical students who agree to practice medicine in Southwest Virginia. The $50,000 Scholarships, available annually to two third or fourth year VCOM students, are part of a $1 Million Challenge Grant seeking to inspire others who work, live, and do business in the region to support this important program and enable students to return to practice medicine in medically underserved areas within a fifteen-county, three-city region.

The Sower Scholarship, based on the Bible parable, was established by Drs. Frank and Jennifer Clark with the intention in assisting VCOM in maintaining and improving the education benefits that all students receive from a diverse study body. The Sower Scholarship is available to VCOM-Carolinas students who support a diverse student body.

The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) – Carolinas Campus will hold its Sixth Annual Via Research Recognition Day on Friday, March 19, 2021. Research Day is a significant event for VCOM and supports the mission of the College to provide medical education and research that prepares globally-minded, community-focused physicians and improves the health of those most in need. This year’s focus is the value of clinical trials in medical research.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS:
The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Carolinas Campus welcomes your abstracts for scientific poster presentation at this year’s event. The submission period is December 9, 2020- February 5, 2021. All submissions should be made utilizing the Abstract Submission Form, which is attached to this email. All abstract forms must be received completed in full to qualify for review and/or acceptance. Abstract forms must be submitted to researchday-cc@carolinas.vcom.edu.
When an abstract is submitted/accepted, the submitting author will be sent additional details about the next steps via email. Emails can be expected beginning February 15th.
