this data, to identify the most effective and practical means to utilize this information in support of research, medical education program planning, workforce shortage areas of concern, scope of practice legislation justification and other national and state healthcare workforce benchmark research. Over 250 political, demographic, socio-economic and other healthcare information healthcare datasets along with workforce data are available through NCAHD’s national healthcare workforce mapping portal found on the website: www.ncahd.org.

Since 2017, VCOM has housed the federally funded National Center for Rural Health Works which conducts economic impact and community health needs assessment research for medical schools, hospital and healthcare systems, states and community stakeholders.
