Leslie Andree Hanna Medical Scholarship

Eligibility requirements:

A one-time preferred amount of $5,000 to two deserving female students who are US citizen attending medical school. The selection process is based on academic merit with a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent GPA on the scale used by the applicable educational institution. The recipient may reapply for the scholarship each year, but is not guaranteed the award.

Application requirements:

  • All submitted information is either typed or computer generated.

  • Statement of 1,000 words or less setting forth your career objectives.
  • Most recent copy of your high school transcript or college grades (as applicable). Home schooled students must include transcripts for grade nine through current year.
  • All scholarships with a minimum grade point average (GPA) are based on a 4.0 scaled or the equivalent GPA on the scale used by the applicable educational institution.
  • Recommendations (at least two but not to exceed four from high school or college now attending).  Recommendations should convey your ability, work habits, integrity, character, potential, and volunteer activities.
  • List of your extra-curricular activities, honors received, and scholastic achievements (one side of a 8 1/2 inch x 11 inch piece of paper).
  • Photocopy of your United States citizenship: birth certificate, naturalization papers, or information page of United States Passport.  Cover your photograph.  If listed, please blackout social security numbers.

Irene and Daisy MacGregor Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility requirements:

The Irene and Daisy MacGregor Memorial Scholarship is awarded to two students of high scholastic standing and character who have been accepted into or are pursuing an approved course of study to become a medical doctor (no pre-med, veterinarian or physician assistant) at an approved, accredited medical school. Renewal is conditional upon maintenance of a GPA of 3.25.

This scholarship is also available to students who have been accepted into or who are pursuing an approved course of study in the field of psychiatric nursing at the graduate level at accredited medical schools, colleges, or universities. There is a preference to females "if equally qualified."

Eligibility requirements:

A preferred amount $5,000 scholarship awarded to one student either attending or planning to attend an approved, accredited medical school, college, or university. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.25. This scholarship is not automatically renewable; however, recipients may reapply for consideration each year for up to four consecutive years, pending receipt of proof of continued enrollment (no pre–med, veterinarian, or physician assistant), and after the first semester, an annual transcript review indicating a minimum GPA of 3.25.

Scholarships360 $10,000 "No Essay" Scholarship

 

Eligible to:

Any college-level student that are U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. 

This scholarship will be awarded to students who get the most out of Scholarships360 scholarships and content. You will be a strong applicant if you apply to scholarships with the Scholarships360 platform. Finalists for this scholarship will be interviewed about their process for funding their education.

This scholarship has rolling monthly application deadlines. Students applying earlier will have a greater chance of winning. The final application date for the 2026 cycle is June 30, 2026; the winner of the $10,000 No-Essay Scholarship will be announced by July 31, 2026 on our scholarship winners page.

National Medical Fellowship Scholarships

 

Since its inception, National Medical Fellowships financial empowerment has been at the core of its programming. NMF scholarship programs recognize merit as well as financial need. Over the years, funding for scholarships has come from hundreds of foundations and from individuals. NMF actively seeks and welcomes partnerships to build and expand the types and amount of support we provide to our scholars.

Multiple scholarships offered throughout 3 cycles, annually. Amounts vary based on the specific scholarship applied to. 

General eligibility entails:

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) approval letter

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited, graduate-level U.S. health care program

  • Demonstrated financial need

Discipline Chair for Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM)

The Discipline Chair for OMM provides on-campus teaching in the specialty field of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM). This position oversees the clinical faculty on VCOM’s Core clinical sites who teach students in this specialty and develops and updates annually the clinical curriculum for the core rotations. They serve as an advisor to students in this specialty for obtaining a residency and as to the choice of this specialty for clinical practice.  This position supports the College by serving on committees, providing student interviews, in curriculum development and delivery, and in all areas of the college development.  This position also provides research and scholarly activity.

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Education: Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or Medical Doctor (MD)

  • Licensure or certification: State Medical License
  • Experience: Residency Completion (field of specialty rotation or equivalent credentials); Board Eligible/Board Certified; clinical practice experience in their specialty field; experience with the education of medical students and/or residents in an academic setting

Preferences may be given to applicants who possess any or all of the following skills or attributes:

Working Conditions and Efforts:  The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to ambulate (may be with use of assisted devices); sit; stand (or accommodate for standing); use hands and vision for teaching the osteopathic examination and for teaching / providing treatment; use office equipment such as computers; speak to large and small groups of individuals for teaching; hear heart sounds, lung sounds and conversation for the purpose of teaching students how to hear and interpret those sounds and for practice; perform moderate telephone and poly-com communication and usage; occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; drive distances up to five hours or to fly on occasion to clinical sites, depending upon the location of the core teaching hospitals.

Work environment:  Office, clinical practice, classroom, laboratory, clinical skills teaching environments and clinical sites constitute working environments. Outside travel required is 15% to 20% of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.  The pace of the work requires a rapid pace to synthesize and organize large volumes of material, while includes those required for clinical practice and clinical teaching and prioritizing duties.

 

This position is classified as exempt, at the Professional level, because it requires the advanced knowledge of a “learned professional” in which to meet the job duty requirements.

Vice President for Communications, Marketing, Publications, and Website

The Vice President will serve as the head of the Division overseeing Communications, Marketing, Website and Publications. The VP will be the chief brand steward and strategic leader for all external communications across VCOM’s four-campus system. This executive role requires a visionary leader capable of unifying the college’s identity through its mission, while supporting the unique needs of its four locations. This position reports to and works closely with the VCOM President and with the VCOM Provost. 

Core Responsibilities/ Job Summary

Strategic Leadership: 

  • Develop, and present for approval a comprehensive communications and marketing plan including all four campuses that align with VCOM’s mission of preparing globally minded, community-focused physicians. Execute plan when approved by the president.

    • In collaboration with the AVPs, develop an annual budget to support the College’s needs and contribute to its growth.
    • Represent VCOM as a state-of-the-art COM with excellent educational outcomes, and a supportive family atmosphere for faculty, staff and students.

Brand Identity Management: 

  • Oversee the college’s visual identity and messaging to ensure consistency and excellence across all marketing platforms and campuses, so that they represent the VCOM brand. Oversee compliance and trademarks.

Team Oversight: 

  • Lead and mentor multi-campus staff responsible for marketing, branding, communications, video, online and digital presence, and publications.

    • Work with AVP for Marketing and the AVP for Communications and Publications to oversee budget compliance and supervision of Division personnel.
    • Directly oversees and approves all website and online marketing, working closely with the President and Provost.

Online, Digital, and Social Marketing Strategy: 

  • Direct the growth, evolution, tracking and compliance of the college’s website and social media ecosystem to increase interactive engagement with prospective students, alumni, the medical community, and donors.

    • Direct the messaging and brand image of the website and social media platforms approved by VCOM.

Publications and College Support: 

  • Continue the excellence in communications with external publications to include award-winning products such as the Annual Report and the VCOM View Magazine.

    • Support annual events and efforts such as Development campaigns, White Coat ceremony, Graduation events and assist when appropriate for other divisions’ materials. 

Public Relations & Media: 

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the president and college, provost and deans, and manage high-level media relations, crisis communications, and community media outreach. Ensure that each campus develops a positive working relationship with local media. Serve as the college liaison for national osteopathic organizations such as AOA and AACOM.

    • Responsible for overseeing all news communications by writing/editing or oversight of articles or press releases as needed: web news, publications, media releases, and more.

 

Salary Range: $125,000.00 - $145,000.00
