What my Practice looks like today
My practice currently consists of a relative balance between clinical cardiology responsibilities and living in the cath lab, performing complex percutaneous coronary interventions. Though days can be long at times, I work within a three-person group with two other interventional cardiologists and have been able to find a balance between work and personal life. Though busy, I still make time for medical students from the local osteopathic school, who round with me regularly and prospective medical school applicants who want to shadow.
The accomplishment I am most proud of thus far in my career is
The accomplishment I am most proud of thus far in my career is attaining my most recent Board certification as a Cardiologist. I have always dreamed of becoming a Cardiologist since I was exposed to the field during my internship during my senior year at Barry University, and I can now say that I am a Cardiologist...... and soon to be an Interventional Cardiologist.
When I look back on my time at VCOM, I think fondly about
When I look back on my time at VCOM, I think fondly about the professors, the fellow students, the Blacksburg community, the VT football games, the beautiful fall and springtime weather, and the hiking and biking trails. I can truly say that I loved my time there as a student and enjoyed all of my 4 years living and enjoying all that Blacksburg and the SW. Virginia area had to offer.

I am pleased to be a DO because I can better assess and treat my patients' maladies and have the patient-centered approach, a patient-first approach that not many other physicians have or demonstrate.
For me, the most unforgettable moment in medical school was
For me, the most unforgettable moment in medical school was too many to recall. Still, moments from initially cheering for the Hokies during 8 am Biochemistry Class with Dr. Mahaney, to playing on the VCOM softball team, to proposing to my beautiful wife while on a beautiful hiking path overlooking the mountains, to graduating in Burress Hall on the campus of VT, and many more moments.
When I am not working, I enjoy
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family (wife and son), working out, watching most any competitive sport from football, baseball, and basketball.
A career in medicine is worthwhile because
A career in medicine is worthwhile because I am the person my local community relies upon to help manage and explain their ongoing cardiovascular disease processes.
