I completed my medical school at Rocky Vista University in Colorado. Originally from Wisconsin, I was able to come back for residency in family medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire. I enjoy staying active through biking, swimming, tennis, and traveling, all of which fuel my passion for movement and wellness. My journey into sports medicine began during my time as a collegiate swimming coach, where I saw firsthand how frustrating it can be for athletes to struggle with injuries and not have the support they need. That experience inspired me to pursue a career where I could bridge the gap—supporting athletes not only in their training but also in their recovery and long-term health. VCOM/Virginia Tech aligns with my goals because it has a strong focus on OMT which allows for real-time treatment of athletes as well as advanced procedural training that can be used as part of a treatment plan. I am looking forward to all the experiences that will be offered this year!
Dr Krueger grew up in Fairfax, VA, and later attended the University of Pittsburgh for his undergraduate education, gaining degrees in psychology and athletic training. During that time, he was an athlete and coach for the club rowing team and worked as an athletic training student for several Pitt teams. He went on to medical school at MWU – Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he also completed a pre-doctoral Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine scholar year. He then went on to complete a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. Kyle grew up in rural northwest Ohio (Findlay) prior to moving to Columbus, where he swam on the college club swim team. Following undergrad, he remained in central Ohio at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine as well as for residency at OhioHealth's Dublin Methodist Hospital. He is incredibly blessed and excited for the opportunities to continue his training in osteopathic sports medicine at Virginia Tech/VCOM. When not in the clinic, he enjoys being active with any recreational sport, swimming, hiking, playing board games/cards, reading sci-fi/fantasy, and otherwise adventuring with his wife, Brittany. Go Hokies!

Outside of medicine, Brett enjoys time with his wife, Taylor, and their two dogs, Lieutenant and Bolt, often going to the beach or walking around the neighborhood. Brett also enjoys playing golf, running, reading, doing crossword puzzles, going to trivia at breweries, hiking and quoting movies and TV shows. Brett is very excited to return to Blacksburg to continue his education at VCOM/Virginia Tech Sports Medicine Fellowship. Go Hokies!
