Research Interests

My research interests center around the prevention and treatment of adiposity-based chronic diseases (e.g. obesity, type 2 diabetes) through the application of evidence-based nutrition approaches. My primary research focus aims to understand the effect of macronutrient distribution on metabolic flexibility in obese beings with future directions aimed at the development of sustainable and applicable dietary prescriptions (both for prevention and treatment). Other collaborative research projects include the provision of a culinary medicine elective for healthcare students to improve their nutrition knowledge and comfort with counseling on nutritional approaches.
