VCOM-Louisiana, located on the campus of the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM), is a branch campus of VCOM. The new campus joins VCOM’s other three campuses in a mission that provides physicians for rural and medically underserved areas in the southern Appalachian and Delta regions.
The College operates under a public-private collaborative partnership agreement with ULM. Students enrolled on the VCOM-Louisiana campus will have access to many resources and activities on the ULM campus. This agreement also provides opportunities for faculty collaboration on education and research, and for sharing of a host of resources.
This partnership is modeled after VCOM-Virginia’s successful partnership with Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia and VCOM-Auburn’s partnership with Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. The VCOM-Carolinas campus, located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, was developed in a collaborative model with the regional not-for-profit hospital, Spartanburg Regional and also collaborates for various student activities with separate colleges in the community.
