The Early Decision Admissions Track is an admissions option for those candidates who identify the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine as their first choice for pursuing a medical education amongst both osteopathic and allopathic medical schools. In order to be considered for the Early Decision Admissions Track, the candidate must meet all of the following requirements and agree to apply only to VCOM until an early decision notification has been made.
Early Decision Admissions Track Requirements
- Minimum Science and Overall GPA of 3.50
- Competitive MCAT score (completed by April of the calendar year four years prior to the date of application, see chart below)
- Submit an application, transcripts from all institutions attended, and MCAT scores to the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Application Service (AACOMAS) by June 15th
- Submit a letter of intent to the Office of Admissions by emailing admissions@vcom.edu indicating that VCOM is your first choice for medical schools by June 15th and request review for Early Decision Admissions Track. Please also specify your preferred campus
- Submit all Secondary Application materials including Secondary Application, application fee, and a letter of recommendation from a premedical advisor/science faculty member by July 15th
- Withhold all applications to other medical schools until early decisions are made by VCOM
- Admissions decisions are made by October 1
