Director for International and Appalachian Outreach Programs

Job Summary: 
This position provides coordination of VCOM’s international and Appalachian outreach activities on the Auburn campus, reporting to the Vice President for International Affairs.  The Director is primarily responsible for coordinating all documents, preparation, and coordination of international and local outreach trips and follow-up.  The Director assists with the coordination of other departmental activities such as meetings, communications, and assisting with some research data and evaluations. 
 

Salary: $59,000 - $62,000

 

Required Qualifications: 


Education: Master’s degree preferred or Bachelor’s Degree with a willingness to participate in an on-line Master’s Degree program (e.g. Master’s of Public Health – focus on Global Health, Health Policy, Epidemiology, Health Systems Management, Community Health, Masters of Healthcare Administration, Master’s in Global Health, Healthcare Master’s of Business Administration, Master’s of Education – Health Professions). Reimbursement of costs of the program will be provided if completed through a VCOM-chosen institution. 
Licensure or certification: None 
Requirement of Spanish Proficiency. Must be fluent in spoken and written Spanish.
Maintain an active and valid Passport

Job Summary:
Job Summary:

The position provides the oversight of the Simulation and Technology Center’s Standardized Patient program and laboratories and the implementation of the educational programs utilizing the technology within the Center for medical student resident, allied health and physician  education.

The position requires administrative and technical expertise in collaberation with the Chair of Family Medicine and the Associate Dean of Simulation and Educational Technology.

The positions prime directive is to functionalize the SP program currculum with goal of improving  measurable participant outcomes. All SP curricuum will have predefined measurable metrics to support the educational return on resource allocation.

The position requires continued participation in educational programs to assure both support and understanding of the skills required to maintain expertise in an evolving standardized patient education in healthcare and to improve the clinical skills of all learners.

The position is a part of an innovative team led by the Associate Dean for Simulation and Technology.

Salary Range:  $78,000 - $85,000

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required with a Master’s level preferred.

  • Licensure or certification: N/A
  • Experience:
  • Education and experience in the medical field as a Registered Nurse or Bachelors level Paramedic with experience in the clinical setting
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite

    • Capabilities to perform video/audio/photo editing
    • Communication and leadership skills
    • Certication by SSH - CHSE and CHSE-A
    • Proficiency in EMS Simulation. (Assessed by the position holders’ skills in managing a complete clinical skills curricular build, delivery, and outcomes assessment.)

A $5,000 scholarship awarded to one student who has been accepted into or who are pursuing an approved course of study to become a medical doctor (no pre–med, veterinarian, or physician assistant) at approved, accredited medical schools, colleges, and universities. A one-time preferred amount of $5,000 to two deserving female students who are US citizen attending medical school.
