It was instituted by his family, including his son, Per Gunnar Brolinson, DO, Vice Provost of Research and family medicine/sports medicine physician for the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) and Virginia Tech, and Gunnar’s wife, Lesia Brolinson.

Dr. Per Gunnar Brolinson’s dedication to family medicine and osteopathic medicine was inspired by his father’s professional life and the care he gave his patients. The Scholarship is available to a VCOM-Virginia student who has plans to practice medicine in a rural area.
