Timothy J. Kowalski, DO, D.FACN is a longtime resident of South Carolina. After graduating from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1983, Dr. Kowalski entered the United States Army and completed a transitional rotating internship, psychiatry residency, and child psychiatry fellowship at Tripler Army Medical Center, in Honolulu, HI. Following his honorable discharge in 1993, Dr. Kowalski was employed by the South Carolina Department of Mental Health rising to the position of Medical Director of the William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute in Columbia, SC, from where he retired in 2010 before coming full time to VCOM.  He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry.
