Health Focus administers scholarships annually to health career students. The funds are generated from grants and private endowment funds, and aid students from southwest Virginia. Our scholarship awards are based primary on financial need and potential for completing a health career program.

Eligibility

GPA must be 3.0 or higher on a scale of 4.0
Is enrolled in or has been accepted to a college or university
Has financial need
Plans to attend school in the state of Virginia
Maintains permanent residence in one of the following counties:  Albemarle, Alleghany, Amherst, Appomattox, Augusta, Bath, Bedford, Bland, Botetourt, Campbell, Carroll, Craig, Dickenson, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Grayson, Halifax, Henry, highland, Lee, Montgomery, Nelson, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Pulaski, Roanoke City & county, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Russell, Salem City, Scott, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington, Wise, Wythe

Awarding Process

Scholarship awards are based primarily on financial need, potential for completing a health career program, sincerity of personal statement, and availability of scholarship funds for the applicant. Funds are awarded to residents of Southwest Virginia who attend a college or university in the state of Virginia. Students will be notified by mail or email whether awarded or denied. Award checks are mailed directly to the school. Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, uniforms, and miscellaneous fees.
