You already know how challenging the healthcare landscape is in the United States, particularly for medically underserved people in the Appalachian and Delta regions of the country. VCOM is working to change that by providing an excellent education to future physicians who address the very real shortage of healthcare professionals, particularly in primary care.
VCOM is looking for compassionate, caring clinical faculty who will be dedicated to shaping our students into amazing physicians.
Does that sound like you?

Are You New to Osteopathic Medicine?
Osteopathic medicine is a distinct branch of medicine in the United States. Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) emphasize the interrelated unity of all systems in the body, each working with the other to heal in times of illness. Osteopathic physicians are licensed to practice the full scope of medicine in every state. They prescribe medications, perform surgery, and use osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) as a tool to diagnose and treat patients. Osteopathic physicians use the most current scientific knowledge to promote health and prevention and diagnose and treat patients with disease.

Interested in Becoming a Clinical Preceptor?
In addition to faculty opportunities on one of our four campuses, VCOM is also looking for preceptors, who educate our students during their rotations at our clinical sites across the Southeastern United States. Preceptors teach VCOM students in the clinical setting only. While these faculty provide dedicated time to the teaching of VCOM students, their primary duties are clinical practice for the clinical employer.
