International Research Projects

Research is an important component of VCOM’s International Outreach program, and ranges widely from disease prevention and prevalence to public health. Faculty, medical students, and post-baccalaureate students collaborate on longitudinal research projects and contribute to data that allows VCOM to continuously improve healthcare for these underserved areas.

Best practices from the International Outreach and Research programs continue to be disseminated in national conferences including AOA, AACOM, ACOFP, and other venues. VCOM students and faculty have won numerous honors for their posters and publications, and regularly publish their scholarly work.
