VCOM-Carolinas Holds 4th Annual Research Day

The 4th annual Via Research Recognition Day at the Carolinas campus was held on April 26, 2019 with 260 registered attendees. This year, the Carolinas Research Day featured 46 posters, including seven from VCOM faculty.

Ronald Moomaw, DO, FACN, Flight Surgeon and Psychiatrist at the Johnson Space Center and Edward B. Leof, PhD, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Medicine and Erivan K. Haub Family Professor of Cancer Research at the Mayo Clinic, provided keynote lectures.

The afternoon consisted of juried presentations, as students shared their work and answered questions raised by fellow students and faculty.

At the closing awards ceremony, 14 participants were recognized for their research achievements in the areas of Biomedical, Case Reports, Clinical and Educational research. The inaugural Researcher of the Year award was given to Jillian Bradley, PhD.
