The Leading Global Health seminar will take place March 22, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. in Classroom 2 at VCOM-Virginia. The seminar will give a global perspective from VCOM-Virginia campus alumna Emily Esmaili.
A graduate of the class of 2008, Esmaili has traveled Asia and Africa serving patients in rural and impoverished communities. She returned to the United States to pursue her master's degree in bioethics from Duke University.
The seminar will focus on bringing global health initiatives full circle, from Asia, Africa and rural Appalachia. Esmaili will speak on her view of providing healthcare across the global and how lessons learned can impact southwest Virginia.
