I feel my greatest accomplishment so far is just being able to practice neurosurgery. It is such a diverse, challenging, and humbling specialty. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be able to do it each day.

What is the best advice you can give a medical student to help them in their path towards being a physician?
The days are long, but the years are short. Always work hard, be persistent. It is good to have clinical interests to serve as a foundation/motivation to get you through the day to day, but have an open mind with each rotation.

What are your fondest memories of your time at VCOM?
Living in Spartanburg and watching the positive impact VCOM had on the revitalization of the area.

What career accomplishment are you most proud of?
I feel my greatest accomplishment so far is just being able to practice neurosurgery. It is such a diverse, challenging, and humbling specialty. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be able to do it each day.

When not working, what activities do you enjoy?
Spending time with my wife and kids, playing hockey, and exercising.
