Criminal Backgroud Check
Background checks are required on incoming students to insure the safety of the patients treated by students in the clinical education program.
An official final transcript from ALL educational institution(s) attended (including all transferred credits) must be submitted to the Graduate Certificate Program Office prior to July 10, 2017.
Transcripts must be sent directly from the Registrar’s Office of the school(s) attended directly to the VCOM Graduate Certificate Program Office. Unofficial transcripts or transcripts hand carried by the student (even if in a sealed envelope) are not acceptable. If a transcript will not be available by July 10 due to outstanding grades or other reasons, e-mail Alisa Hewitt in the Graduate Certificate Program Office well in advance of the deadline to request approval for sending the transcript after the deadline.
- If you had all of your official transcripts mailed at the time of your application AND the official transcript reflects your date of degree conferral, no additional transcripts are required.
If your AACOMAS application was used in lieu of transcripts at the time of initial application, AND reflects all schools attended, all coursework completed, and degree conferral, no additional transcript copies are needed at this time. Any other status requires final official transcripts be sent to complete your file. Please request official transcripts be sent to us right away.
Failure to submit official transcripts by the due date (or to obtain authorized approval of an extension) may result in the offer of admission to VCOM being rescinded and forfeiture of your tuition deposit.

Health Insurance Requirements
All students at VCOM are required to obtain and maintain health insurance. Insurance must become effective on or before July 17, 2017.
Required Health and Immunization Forms
Accepted students should read through and review ALL documents below and begin the process of completing all required testing and forms as soon as possible. Certain requirements take time to complete so please get started early. The final due date for completed Student Health Forms is July 17, 2017.

The Housing Listserv is a resource for you to utilize as you prepare to attend VCOM. The Housing Listserv serves two functions: to provide you with resources regarding housing and assist you in finding a roommate. Please email Sarah Sells at ssells [at] vcom.vt.edu if you are interested in being placed on the Housing Listserv for the Virginia Campus. Indicate if you are interested in receiving housing listings and/or searching for a roommate. Include the email address that you would like used on the listserv in the body of the message.
