VCOM-Carolinas Students Awarded Scholarships

Congratulations to four Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM)-Carolinas scholarship recipients! The Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association Foundation (POMAF) has awarded four VCOM-Carolinas students scholarships for 2017-2018.

POMAF has two scholarship programs. The Alfred A. Grilli Scholarship is open to students entering their fourth year who are Western Pennsylvania residents or those who were residents just prior to entering medical school and plan to practice in Pennsylvania. The General Scholarship Fund is open to students entering their third or fourth year who are Pennsylvania residents or those who were residents just prior to entering medical school.

Tina Chuong, Class of 2018, is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Temple University, she earned a Master’s degree in Science from Drexel University before coming to VCOM-Carolinas.
Thomas J. Price, Class of 2018, is from Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh.
Alexandra L. Marcelli, Class of 2019, of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the Ohio State University, and her Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from University of North Texas Health Science Center.
Emma C. Robl, Class of 2019, is from Paoli, Pennsylvania, and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina.

We are proud of the achievement of these students and look forward to seeing the ways in which these generous gifts from POMAF inspire them in their mission of service.
