Gadsden Regional Medical Center is a 346-bed facility with a long history of serving Gadsden and Etowah County. The hospital offers several services, including Behavioral Health, Mental (Adult & Geriatric), Cardiology/Heart Center with 2 Cath Labs and 2 Intensive Care Units, a 24-hour Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging, Labor & Delivery, Laboratory, Occupational Medicine, Rehab Center (physical, Speech, Hand), Sleep Disorders Center, Surgery-Inpatient & Outpatient (Arthroscopic, Laparoscopic and Lithotripsy, Cancer Care, Hospice, Stroke Services, Women & Children’s Center.

Gadsden Regional has received awards for Quality by becoming the first hospital in Alabama to receive the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission for knee and hip replacement surgeries, Society of Chest Pain Centers, Accreditation with Commendation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, and Accreditation by American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Russell Medical Center, located in Alexander City, is a progressive, not-for-profit, 81-bed acute care facility serving the needs of east Central Alabama.  Founded by Benjamin Russell, Russell Medical Center has been proudly serving the healthcare needs of the Lake Martin area since 1923, and accredited by The Joint Commission since 1959.   The main campus boasts 51 active staff physicians covering 17 medical specialties, and approximately 600 employees.
Russell Medical Center features all private rooms; LDR birthing suites; seven OR suites, plus a C-section room in Obstetrics; Cardiology & Vascular Services; Robotic Surgery; Oncology Services including chemotherapy and radiation oncology.  Centers of Excellence include:  Sleep Disorders Center, Women’s Center – Mammography, Health Partners of Goodwater, Medical Park Family Care I Dadeville, Total Fitness – exercise and rehabilitation services, Total Healthcare – primary care clinic,  UA Medicine – Cancer Center at RMC, Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.
Russell Medical Center has received numerous  accolades over recent years including being named a Top 100 Hospital by Thomson Reuters (2011) and one of only  six hospitals nationwide to receive the prestigious Everest Award that same year.  This award honors hospitals that have achieved both the highest current performance and the fastest long-term improvement over five years. 2016 recognitions include:  Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award for 2016, Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care,  Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama Tier 1 designation, and  Russell Medical Center was most recently named one of iVantage Health Analytics’ Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals in the United States.
