This grant program is for fourth year medical students interested in Family Practice, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, or Internal Medicine. McLaren Bay Region, a 404-bed hospital in east central Michigan, is offering a $100,000 grant program to qualified fourth year medical students.
How it works
The grant is distributed over four years beginning in the fourth year of medical school, and extending through the third year of post graduate training.
- The funds are dispersed at $25,000 per year.
- Upon completion of the training, the recipient must establish a practice within the primary service are of McLaren Bay Region.
- McLaren Bay Region will assist the recipient with practice opportunities including potential income guarantees, possible employment, or joining an existing practice.
- If the recipient maintains a practice within the primary service area, the grant will be forgiven in equal installments for each year of practice up to five years.
- The recipient must be a US Citizen.
- Each finalist chosen for consideration will participate in an on-site interview at McLaren Bay Region.
- Selection committee will review the applications in March and April.
- The recipient will be selected and notified in May.
Application cycle is November through February each year.
