This scholarship, founded by Gene Bane, O.D., was established in recognition of the positive relationship between the osteopathic physician and the profession of optometry. Recipients must be residents of Virginia, have successfully completed the OMS1 year at VCOM with a GPA in the upper 50 percentile of the class at the time of application, demonstrate financial need, and have a strong intent to enter a primary care specialty.
